Style Guide - Laundry Room

Hello blogger friends, and a happy New Years Eve to all of you! 2014 is nearly upon us! Can you believe it? 2013 has been such a good year for both myself and Janey Mac, and, to be honest, the nostalgic side of me is kind of sad to see it go. However, I am beyond thrilled to see what wonderful things the new year will hold.

Now I don't know about you guys, but with the new year there always seems to come new projects. There is just something about the spirit of it all that gets my creative juices flowing right through the front door and all the way down the driveway. Sorry neighbors...

This year I want to take a little time to make the area's in which I live a little brighter and more joyful. Here are a few ideas for an extremely adorable Laundry Room Makeover.

Vinyl Blocks

For today's post I thought I would give you all a little sneak peek into the creative (or at least somewhat creative) life of yours truly.

Now when it comes to Christmas presents I almost always have these grand plans to buy hundreds of dollars worth of stuff that is going to blow people's minds. However, almost every year, without fail, I end up forgoing this idea for homemade presents. I don't know what it is exactly, but there is just something so special about making presents from scratch that keeps me coming back to homemade gifts time and time again. Here is a look at the Holiday Blocks I made for my sister this year using some really lovely scrapbook paper and some vinyl lettering. I think it turned out pretty cute :)

Style Guide - Aviation Nursery

When it comes to little boys, I think it's safe to say that the majority of them love things that fly. Whether it be airplanes, helicopters, or even space ships, flying and little boys just kinda go together. Here are a few ideas of different things you could use to style an adorable nursery for your little pilot in the making.

Style Guide - Floral Skirt

Good afternoon everyone, and a happy Tuesday to each of you!

Now I don't know if you know this about me, but I have a bit of a thing for floral printed clothing... It is a love affair that started some time ago and I just don't think it is ever going to end... There is just something so lovely and feminine about a good floral print, especially when that print is on a particularly cute little skirt. Here are two different ways (and color schemes) that you could style our new Grey Floral Printed Skirt.

Enjoy!

Christmas Advent Book

When it comes to Christmas almost every family has their own set of traditions. For me and my family it is new PJ'S on Christmas Eve, for my sister's family it is a candlelight dinner, and for Lynette's family it's a new Christmas book.

Traditions are the best and a big part of what makes the Christmas season so special. However, being a tradition usually means you know what's coming, so, finding new and unique ways to go about doing them helps to keep a sense of excitment and wonder.

The Christmas Book Advent is a new (and pretty dang cute) way to do two traditions in one.

 Here is how it works.

At the beginning of December you wrap, in all their cute christmasy glory, 23 different Christmas books. These can be new, old, whatever you fancy.

After that you wrap one brand new Christmas book and add it to the mix (the trick is to not let your kids know which book is new and which book is old)

Once all of your Christmas books are nice and snug in their wrapping paper you can add on one number for each day leading up to Christmas.

The fun thing about doing your Advent this way is that your kids have no idea what day they are going to get their new book. Can't you just feel the anticipation and excitement!!?

So there you have it! An adorable new way to do an old tradition.
ANDDDD... (just to make things even easier) here is a link to a free print of the cute little numbers you see on the presents above.

Go forth and craft.

P.S. Just wanted to remind you all that today is the LAST DAY to take 25% off your order! Don't miss out!
