Getting Ready to Decorate!

Picking out Paint and Furniture  . . . .

Initially I wanted a medium to dark grey (on the colder side of grey) with a start white trim for the paint in our house.  That is until I was looking for furniture and found this . . . .

I had seen some other couch styles that I really loved, but they are all linens and velvets, and with 4 kids 6 and younger - I didn't think that was a real great idea!  And then I found this beauty above - Leather, Pintucked and Gorgy Color!!!

So I had to rethink my paint colors - Now I need a Greige - thanks pinterest!

Can't decide if I want to go light or a medium tone.  The wood floors will be a dark grey wash and furniture in the medium range with creamy white kitchen cabinets.  Do I dare a dark paint color or will it be too dark???  The cabinets would look fantastic popping against the dark wall though!

Anyway . . .
Here is what I have compiled so far for the Great Room Furniture.

As you can see - I need helping deciding on what rug color to go with.  The white rug would look amazing against the floors, the grey was what I was originally thinking and the blue would give a subtle pop of color - too many decisions!! But at least their fun ones ;)

Nursery Decor

As I am getting ready to design another nursery I am finding some cute new pieces I hadn't thought of before.
I love this look - The furniture is more modern than I like, but the paper lantern collage is adorable:

And then I ran across these on Etsy {Tissue Tassle Garland} - but I may have to use these for a birthday party - I'm not quite sure how to incorporate them into the room, but they sure are FUN!

Adorable Children's Spaces

As you know most of our wall decal designs at Janey Mac are designed for children's spaces.  It may be because I have three kids 5 and under, but I just adore cute children's spaces.

Love the oversized wall decal with the string of adorable infant clothes.  And I am a sucker for the old metal cars.  I found one in a San Francisco thrift store a little over a year ago and I still love it as much as the day I found it.

Eat in Kitchens

While continuing to design our floor plan I can't decide if I want a more separate eating area or an 

Eat in Kitchen.

We don't have a formal dining but maybe I can do both a semi formal and an eat in kitchen 

(on the smaller side)

This one is perfect size.  Just for kids for breakfast or a quick lunch by yourself.

Love the seating and the lighting!

I love the look of these full dining table inside of the kitchen, but I am so used to having a kitchen island in the middle that I don't know if I could functionally pull this off.

This is more of what I currently have designed.

A partial eat in/bench buffet style and then an informal dining off to the side.

This design would give me the best of both.  The kitchen island and the eat in seating.

I don't know that I have seen a super long bench like this before with a table only take up part of it - but I love everything about it, especially the colors.

This one is just breathtaking and classic.

Dream Kitchen Floor - Reclaimed Wood
